Michael Mullen

Mike joined the GSGA family in the summer of 2014 as a teaching professional and is excited to bring his passionate teaching approach to our team.

Mike’s career in golf began while attending Virginia Commonwealth University.  Mike played collegiate golf for VCU and also worked at The County Club of Virginia as a member of their golf staff.  He has since worked at The Dominion Club in Glen Allen, VA and Spring Lake Golf Club in Spring Lake, NJ as an assistant professional.  Most recently, Mike has spent the past seven seasons at Montammy Golf Club in Alpine, NJ working as a lead teaching professional.  Mike believes that tension is the enemy of a free flowing golf swing.  Therefore, having fun and a mind free of distractions are critical elements to a player’s development.

In addition to teaching adults and juniors of all ability levels, Mike has competed in numerous USGA, Met Section and New Jersey Section tournaments throughout his golf career.  He has also attended and assisted with golf schools conducted by renowned instructors Jim McLean, Dave Stockton, and Fred Shoemaker.  Mike is committed to teaching all aspects of the game and understands that golf truly is “A Game of a Lifetime”.
